The scholarship program of St. Vasilios Church was established by our P.T.A. in 1955 with an annual award of 0. In the years that have followed, the tireless work of the P.T.A. and the extraordinary generosity of many benefactors have allowed the program to prosper and grow.
As of this writing, 2 annual scholarships are awarded in the amount of ,500 each; 16 additional scholarships are also awarded annually, each in the amount of ,000. These scholarships are fully endowed by a trust fund, and are awarded on the basis of scholastic ability, financial need, as well as participation and involvement in the life of the parish.
Scholarships are awarded to any Greek Orthodox youngster at least one of whose parents has been a member in good standing of the parish for a period of five years or more, and who has been accepted to, or matriculated at, an accredited four-year college.
Applications are available each April through local high school guidance departments, at the church office, and here as a download.
