The Philoptohos or "friends of the poor" is an organization of women of the parish, primarily dedicated to service to the poor, and to the enrichment of parish life. Aside from benevolence on an individual basis, this group maintains an ongoing program of philanthropic projects which support St. Basil Academy, an archdiocesan school for needy children, the benevolence fund of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the National Philoptohos Children's Open Heart Surgery Program, and the Cyprus Children's Fund.

In addition, they maintain a program of visitation and gift-giving to parish elders who are nursing home patients, and of other programs too numerous to mention here.

In addition to its philanthropic endeavors, the society generously supports parish capital projects and provides numerous fellowship opportunities through social events and an active and extensive travel program.
